GAZA — Five Palestinians, including four women, were killed and six others wounded in an Israeli airstrike on a residential apartment in western Gaza City on Saturday, amid continuing Israeli violations of the ceasefire in place since October 2025.

A medical source at Al-Shifa Hospital said two Christian women were among those killed, along with two other women and a young man.

Local sources and eyewitnesses said Israeli warplanes fired at least two missiles at an apartment in the Asala residential building early Saturday, destroying the targeted apartment and causing extensive damage to neighboring homes.

A fire also broke out following the strike.

Elsewhere in Gaza City, the Israeli army carried out demolition operations targeting buildings and facilities in areas under its control east of the Tuffah neighborhood, according to local sources.

In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli artillery heavily shelled areas south and east of Khan Younis and north of Rafah, accompanied by intense gunfire, eyewitnesses said.

Israeli military vehicles also opened heavy fire on areas east of the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli violations of the ceasefire had killed at least 1,439 Palestinians and wounded 5,052 others as of Thursday.

Palestinian figures put the death toll in Gaza since October 2023 at more than 74,000, with over 175,000 people wounded. Around 90% of the territory’s infrastructure has also been destroyed, according to Palestinian estimates.
