RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense urged the public to exercise caution and remain vigilant amid forecast of thunderstorms continue hitting most regions of Saudi Arabia until next Saturday.

The directorate advised people to stay in safe locations, avoid areas prone to flash floods and valleys, refrain from swimming in such areas, and follow instructions issued through various media outlets and social media platforms.

The National Meteorology Center (NCM) indicated that the Makkah region would experience moderate to heavy rainfall, resulting in flash floods, hail, and dust storms. The affected areas include the holy city of Makkah, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Bahrah, Taif, Maysan, Adham, and Al-Ardiyat. Light to moderate rainfall is expected in Allith and Qunfudhah.

The NCM pointed out that the Jazan, Asir and Al-Baha regions would experience moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by flash floods, hail, and dust-raising downdrafts, while light to moderate rainfall would affect the regions of Madinah, Hail, Tabuk, Al-Jouf and Northern Borders.
