RIYADH — A total of 108 government employees were arrested on corruption charges during the last month of August, with some of those arrested later released on bail, according to the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha).

Nazaha initiated a number of criminal and administrative cases during August as part of its ongoing efforts to promote integrity and combat corruption across government entities.

The authority conducted 2,659 oversight visits during the month, leading to investigations into the suspected involvement of 352 employees in corruption cases. The investigations resulted in the arrest of 108 employees from the Ministry Interior, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Commerce, and Ministry of Municipalities and Housing.

Nazaha charged the employees with bribery and abuse of official positions.
