RIYADH — Most regions of Saudi Arabia are expected to be affected by a new spell of rain starting Friday, with rainfall varying in intensity and extending to the coastal areas of Makkah region, the National Center for Meteorology (NCM) said.

Jeddah and Rabigh are forecast to receive moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday, the center said.

The NCM expects the rain wave to expand and intensify across most parts of the Kingdom on Monday and Tuesday, according to its climate forecasts. It urged the public to follow its latest reports and alerts and exercise caution during rainfall.

NCM spokesman Hussein Al-Qahtani said the center was preparing to monitor the new wave, which is expected to affect most regions from Friday.

He highlighted the forecast for moderate to heavy rain along the Makkah region’s coast, particularly in Jeddah and Rabigh, on Saturday.

Al-Qahtani also urged the public to follow instructions issued by the relevant authorities, stay clear of flood channels and valleys, and avoid crossing them while water is flowing.
