MUSCAT — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi discussed safeguarding freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz during a meeting in Muscat on Wednesday.

The ministers reviewed the close ties between Saudi Arabia and Oman and explored ways to further enhance cooperation in support of the two countries’ mutual interests and Gulf integration.

During official talks following the meeting, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation across various sectors to deepen the strategic partnership between the Kingdom and the Sultanate.

They also reviewed regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern, with particular focus on developments related to the Strait of Hormuz.

The ministers stressed the importance of safeguarding the security of international waterways, ensuring freedom of navigation and supporting efforts to enhance regional security and stability while resolving disputes through dialogue and peaceful means.

The talks also covered several joint strategic projects, including the land border crossing between the two countries, as well as cooperation in transport networks and logistics connectivity to strengthen regional integration.

The two ministers further discussed opportunities to expand economic, trade and investment cooperation, encourage public-private partnerships and capitalize on promising opportunities in sectors of mutual interest to advance bilateral relations.
