RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense on Saturday lifted precautionary alerts issued earlier for Yanbu Governorate and Jazan, announcing that the potential danger had passed.

The Civil Defense had earlier activated the National Early Warning Platform to issue alerts warning residents in Yanbu and Jazan of a potential threat and urging them to follow official safety instructions.

In statements issued after the alerts, the authority confirmed that the danger had been lifted in both areas and called on citizens and residents to continue relying on official sources for information while avoiding rumors and unverified videos circulating on social media.

During the precautionary alerts, authorities instructed residents to remain calm, seek shelter inside buildings or interior rooms away from windows, avoid open areas, and stay indoors until further notice.

The Civil Defense also advised people to keep away from glass, balconies and rooftops, while those outdoors were urged to take shelter in the nearest building or behind a solid barrier and avoid gathering or approaching hazardous locations.
