    Prince Faisal co-chairs Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council meeting in Athens

    ATHENS — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritis co-chaired the second meeting of the Political Committee of the Saudi-Hellenic Strategic Partnership Council in Athens on Thursday.

    During the meeting, the ministers reviewed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries. The meeting highlighted the progress achieved in various areas of cooperation, and discussed ways to strengthen and develop these relations to meet the aspirations of the leadership of both countries and achieve common interests.

    The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest and emphasized the importance of strengthening political coordination and consultation to support efforts aimed at enhancing regional and international security and stability.

    Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Giorgos Gerapetritis held bilateral talks. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen and develop them to serve the interests of the two friendly countries. They also discussed developments in the region and joint efforts to achieve security and peace.

    Following the meeting, the ministers signed an agreement between the two governments regarding visa exemption for holders ofdiplomatic, special, and service passports.

    The meetings were attended by the Saudi Undersecretary for Political Affairs Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Greece Ali Al-Yousef, Director General of the Minister’s Office Waleed Al-Smaeel, and Director General of the General Administration of Councils and Committees Eng. Fahd Al-Harthi.
