RIYADH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has begun issuing specialized climate maps for rainfall distribution, as part of efforts to advance monitoring and climate analysis tools and strengthen the early warning system.

As part of this initiative, the center released a climate map for April rainfall distribution covering the historical period from 1998 to 2025, based on analyzed satellite data.

The map shows higher rainfall concentrations during April over the southwestern and western highlands of the Kingdom, with lighter rainfall extending into parts of central regions, while other areas experience varying levels of precipitation.

The NCM said these climate maps serve as a key tool supporting the early warning system, enabling relevant authorities to take proactive measures and improve preparedness in handling rainfall events.

The initiative aligns with the center’s strategy to provide advanced climate products based on accurate data and scientific analysis, supporting decision-making and enhancing public safety.
