JEDDAH — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman received on Tuesday a delegation, who came to honor Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in appreciation of his support and patronage of the Qur’an memorization associations across the Kingdom, spanning over a period of more than 60 years.

On behalf of King Salman, the Crown Prince received the honorary gifts presented on the occasion. The awards included a luxury shield, a handwritten copy of the Holy Qur’an, and two plaques; one commemorating King Salman’s completion of memorizing the Qur’an at the age of ten, and the other bearing the names of the 21,000 Qur’an memorizers who have benefited from the Riyadh Qur’an Memorization Society (Maknoon).

The honor comes in appreciation of King Salman’s longstanding dedication to the Holy Qur’an, his directives to promote its teaching and interpretation, instill its values, support the teaching of the Qur’anic sciences, and distribute translations of its meanings.

During the reception, the Crown Prince expressed his appreciation to all non-profit Qur’an memorization associations in the Kingdom for their qualitative initiatives in serving the holy book and their active contributions to developing the nonprofit sector.

He also praised their continued efforts and their integration with the leadership’s initiatives to strengthen the Kingdom’s pioneering role in serving Islam and Muslims around the world.
