ASIR — Authorities are investigating the cause of an amusement ride accident at a festival in Abha after emergency teams responded immediately to the incident and provided medical care to those injured.

In a statement posted on X, the Asir governorate said the competent authorities began their response as soon as the incident was reported, handling the situation on site and ensuring that the injured received the necessary medical treatment.

According to Saudi TV’s Al Ekhbariya channel, the incident injured 23 people. No fatalities were reported, and three of the injured have been discharged from hospital after receiving the necessary treatment.

The governorate said investigations are continuing to determine the cause and circumstances of the accident, while completing the relevant legal procedures to examine all technical and regulatory aspects of the incident.

It urged the public to rely on official sources for information and avoid circulating rumors or unverified reports to ensure the accuracy of information and protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
