RIYADH — ‏Deputy Minister of Finance Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf attended the 2nd High-Level Strategic Dialogue between Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Riyadh on Sunday, with the participation of IMF leadership. The participants discussed the partnership between the Kingdom and the IMF in supporting capacity development in the region, as well as the activities of the IMF Regional Office in the Kingdom.

‏During the dialogue, Alkhalaf discussed the important objectives for developing the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the IMF, and for enhancing the desired impact, while reiterating the strength of the existing partnership. ‏He also welcomed the growing role of the IMF office in Riyadh as a regional platform that enhances its presence in the region, and said he is looking forward to achieving further progress in this regard over the coming year. He noted the great value the office holds through offering technical sessions and hosting high-level policy dialogues on economic issues important to the region.

‏ Alkhalaf said that the Kingdom will remain an active partner in supporting and developing economic policies in the region. He also appreciated the spirit of cooperation that shaped the dialogue, while stressing the Kingdom’s determination to continue this joint work.

‏The strategic dialogue is an important platform to exchange views between the Kingdom and the IMF on regional and global economic developments, as well as to discuss common priorities, explore new paths to enhance policy coordination, and support the resilience of economies and sustainable growth in the region.
