Al Nassr face defining title run as Al Ahli clash looms

RIYADH —Al Nassr return to Roshn Saudi League action facing a decisive stretch that could shape the outcome of the title race, starting with a top-of-the-table clash against Al Ahli on Wednesday.

Fresh off securing a place in the AFC Champions League Two final, Al Nassr shift their focus back to domestic duties with three crucial matches in nine days that could define their season.

The Riyadh side sit eight points clear at the top with five rounds remaining, riding a remarkable run of 15 consecutive league victories — and 19 across all competitions — to take firm control of the title race.

However, the pressure could intensify quickly. Rivals Al Hilal, who have a game in hand, can cut the gap before Al Nassr host Al Ahli at a packed Al Awwal Park.

Head coach Jorge Jesus knows the importance of the upcoming run, with trips to Al Qadsiah and Al Shabab to follow in quick succession.

A potential title decider against Al Hilal later in the campaign also looms, although Al Nassr will be wary of past slip-ups in similar fixtures earlier this year that cost them momentum.

The immediate focus, though, is on Al Ahli — newly crowned back-to-back Asian champions — who arrive in Riyadh with confidence and momentum.

While Al Nassr hold a strong recent league record against their Jeddah rivals, the challenge is clear: maintain consistency under pressure and avoid any stumble at a stage where margins are minimal.

Led by Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside João Félix and Sadio Mané, Al Nassr have the firepower and experience to deliver.

But as the season enters its final stretch, this is their moment of truth and it begins now.
