Gulf Business Machines (GBM), a leading end-to-end digital solutions provider, recently announced the appointment of Pieter Willem Bil as its Chief Executive Officer.

In this role, Pieter will lead GBM’s strategic growth across regional markets, focusing on empowering enterprise and public sector customers to accelerate Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption, modernising resilient digital infrastructure, and navigate complex technology transformations with trusted strategic counsel.

Pieter brings more than 30 years of executive leadership experience driving business transformation, growth and digital modernisation for Fortune 500 enterprises and government entities. He joins GBM from Kyndryl, where he served as Senior Vice President & Managing Director for Middle East and Africa. Pieter has a proven track record of guiding enterprises through complex digital transformations, scaling operations, and driving sustainable business growth. His deep understanding of the regional market, combined with extensive experience leading large-scale transformation partnerships, AI integration initiatives, and complex multi-vendor environments, will be instrumental as GBM continues to expand its regional footprint.

Marwan Faraj Bin Hamoodah, GBM Chairman, commented on the appointment: “We are delighted to welcome Pieter Bil to GBM as our new Chief Executive Officer. As the digital landscape evolves and resilient technological advancement becomes increasingly critical to business continuity across the region, Pieter’s exceptional leadership and strategic foresight will be invaluable. We are confident that his vision will accelerate our mission to empower organisations with cutting-edge digital infrastructure and resilient operations”.

Pieter Bil, CEO at GBM said: “I am honoured to join GBM at such a pivotal moment in the region’s technology evolution. My focus will be on continuing to deliver the robust, secure, and intelligent infrastructure required to fuel the next chapter of digital economic growth in the region. Together with the talented team at GBM, I look forward to building on our strong foundation and driving sustainable value for our clients”.

Under this new leadership, GBM remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the region’s ambitious national digital agendas, providing the end-to-end capabilities that ensure enterprises remain agile, secure, and ready for the future.
