Speaking at LEAP 2026, Saqer Alanazi, Business Development Manager – AI at PNY Technologies, highlights the importance of right-sizing AI environments, from professional workstations to large data centre deployments. LEAP 2026 is celebrating its fifth edition. What is your message to the global technology community, and how is PNY contributing to Saudi Arabia’s growing technology ecosystem?
LEAP has evolved significantly over its five editions. If you look back at the first edition, it was a much smaller event held closer to the centre of Riyadh. Today, it has grown considerably and attracts major technology companies, startups and organisations from around the world.
AI is also developing rapidly in Saudi Arabia, demonstrating how important the technology has become to the Kingdom’s future. AI is now everywhere, from our homes and smartphones to small and medium-sized businesses, government, healthcare and financial services.
PNY’s added value is helping organisations understand GPUs and how the right infrastructure can support their AI requirements. PNY is not simply a distributor. We offer a comprehensive range of AI infrastructure solutions covering GPUs, software, networking and storage.
We also have an experienced team with deep knowledge of AI infrastructure, backed by our relationship with NVIDIA spanning more than 25 years. Our role is to educate the market, support startups as well as medium and large enterprises, and help organisations understand the GPU resources and infrastructure they require for AI.
What is PNY’s key focus at LEAP 2026?
One of our key objectives this year is building brand awareness and supporting our partners. LEAP brings together large organisations as well as small and medium-sized companies, giving us an opportunity to meet partners and end users and understand their requirements.
Every industry and business function has different AI requirements. We are here to help organisations understand those requirements, educate them about AI and GPUs, and advise them on the infrastructure best suited to their needs.
Our approach goes beyond GPUs. We look at the overall AI infrastructure requirement and help customers determine the right solution for their particular use case.
Organisations are struggling with structured and unstructured data and rising storage costs. What would you advise them to prioritise?
First, organisations need to identify exactly what they need AI for. Everyone wants to adopt AI and introduce advanced technologies into their organisation, but clearly identifying the use case is the most important starting point.
Second, organisations need the right technical expertise to support their AI environment. This could be an internal team or external specialists. Companies such as PNY can support customers at the beginning of their AI journey, but organisations also need the appropriate technical capabilities to manage their environments over the longer term.
Identifying these requirements can save significant costs. Not every organisation needs a large data centre. In some cases, a workstation may be sufficient. In others, a workstation will not meet the requirements and the organisation may need a data centre or an NVIDIA DGX-based environment supported by the appropriate hardware, software, networking and storage.
Identifying the requirement before investing is therefore critical.
What are PNY’s top priorities heading into 2027?
Our priorities remain focused on expanding AI adoption and making the technology accessible to more organisations.
First, we want to continue supporting small and medium-sized companies in adopting AI and make our capabilities available to a much broader market.
Second, we want to encourage organisations to use AI where it can deliver genuine value. AI can help save time, reduce costs and improve the productivity of teams.
Third, we want to continue educating organisations about GPUs and helping them identify the right infrastructure for their specific requirements. Choosing the right GPU and infrastructure is important to achieving the expected value from AI investments.
What final message would you like to share with organisations exploring AI?
We are still at the beginning of the AI journey. AI is developing extremely quickly. What we saw a year or two ago is very different from what is possible today, and the technology continues to improve almost every day.
The important thing for organisations is to understand what they want to achieve with AI and identify the infrastructure they genuinely need.
