ABU DHABI, 21st August, 2026 (WAM) — Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Marine Sports Federation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, affirmed that the growing success of the “Nokhatha Abu Dhabi” programme, now in its fifth year, along with the noticeable year-on-year increase in the number of students and visitors, reflects the programme’s growing status as a leading community initiative dedicated to developing future generations, strengthening national identity, and passing on the UAE’s rich maritime heritage. He noted that these objectives are aligned with the vision of the UAE leadership and the country’s development strategy, which places people, families and society at the heart of sustainable development.

He said the programme is aligned with the objectives of the “Year of the Family 2026”, highlighting the importance of collaboration between families and national institutions in instilling a sense of belonging and preserving national identity. He added that heritage remains alive when it is passed on to younger generations through knowledge, practice and real-life experience, becoming an integral part of their lives and interests.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan praised the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and its Academy, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, in continuously developing the programme and providing an experience that combines heritage, education, sport and community engagement.
