    Saudi Arabia registers 9,586 new urban heritage assets, bringing total to 59,586

    RIYADH — The Heritage Commission has added 9,586 architectural heritage assets to the National Register of Urban Heritage across various regions of Saudi Arabia, bringing the total number of registered assets to 59,586.

    Asir recorded the largest number of newly registered assets at 4,363, bringing its total to 25,110.

    Al-Baha followed with 2,547 new registrations, raising its total to 7,820, while Makkah recorded 1,755 new assets, bringing the total there to 7,786.

    Najran added 673 assets, bringing its total to 1,610, while Riyadh recorded 169 new registrations for a total of 6,072.

    Madinah added 23 assets, bringing its total to 4,003, while Hail recorded 21 new assets for a total of 2,403.

    The Eastern Province added 19 assets, raising its total to 1,154, while Qassim recorded 13 new assets for a total of 2,364.

    Tabuk added two assets, bringing its total to 198, while the Northern Borders Region recorded one new asset, raising its total to 111.

    the commission also registered a total of 457 architectural heritage assets in Al-Jouf and a total of 498 in Jazan.
