RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded a wide range of international achievements in July 2026, from topping global digital rankings and aviation performance tables to earning recognition in higher education, healthcare, sports, and sustainability.

Together, the milestones illustrate the Kingdom’s expanding international presence across sectors that have become central to its long-term development strategy.

    Digital Transformation

July saw Saudi Arabia strengthen its position as one of the world’s leading digital economies.

Collectively, the achievements demonstrate the growing international competitiveness of Saudi institutions, reflecting increased emphasis on research, healthcare, innovation, technology, and knowledge-based development.

    Sports

Saudi Arabia’s sporting achievements extended across a diverse range of disciplines.

The Kingdom secured its first-ever medal at the Fencing World Championships, while athletes also earned international success in handball, swimming, jiu-jitsu, boxing, and weightlifting.

Saudi competitors set a world youth record in athletics, Saudi Arabia strengthened its presence in regional sports leadership through the Asian Polo Federation.

The Kingdom further cemented its position as a global esports destination through the Esports World Cup, showing that Saudi sport is becoming increasingly diversified, with investment supporting both traditional and emerging sports while expanding the Kingdom’s presence on international sporting stages.

    Additional International Achievements

Beyond sector-specific milestones, Saudi Arabia also recorded a number of achievements that reflected its growing international engagement.

The Kingdom was selected to host the 57th International Physics Olympiad, underscoring confidence in its ability to organize major global academic events and further strengthening its position as a destination for international scientific collaboration.

Additionally, Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in the growth of international tourist arrivals.
