NEW YORK — Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Secretary General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi said that the IMCTC’s participation in UN Counter-Terrorism Week at the UN headquarters in New York underscores its commitment as an active global partner in counter-terrorist financing.

Al-Moghedi led the IMCTC delegation attending the UN event, in line with the directives of Saudi Minister of Defense and Chairman of the Council of Defense Ministers for the IMCTC Prince Khalid bin Salman.

Al-Moghedi noted that the coalition highlighted its commitment as an active global partner in leveraging its four core domains of ideological, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military work to unify capabilities and exchange regional expertise.

Organized by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), the forum serves as a premier international platform bringing together member states, experts, and agency heads to review the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy and confront emerging global threats.

On the sidelines of the event, Al-Moghedi held bilateral meetings with Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, as well as UNOCT Acting Undersecretary General Alexandre Zuev and UN Counter-Terrorism Centre Director Mauro Miedico, focusing on expanding institutional cooperation.
