RIYADH — Saudi Arabia, represented by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), has won the 2026 United Nations Public Service Award for its National Data Bank and Estishraf platform, marking another international achievement for the Kingdom in data and artificial intelligence.

The award came after strong international competition, with more than 700 initiatives from 62 countries participating in this year’s edition.

The United Nations Public Service Award is the highest UN recognition for excellence and innovation in the public sector. It honors government initiatives that demonstrate significant impact in developing public services, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing the quality of services delivered to beneficiaries.

The achievement represents a new global milestone for Saudi Arabia in data and artificial intelligence and coincides with the Kingdom’s Year of Artificial Intelligence 2026.

The recognition reflects the continued support provided to SDAIA by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as chairman of SDAIA’s Board of Directors, in advancing the authority’s role and strengthening the Kingdom’s position among the world’s leading data- and technology-driven economies.

The National Data Bank serves as one of SDAIA’s key national enablers, aimed at improving data quality and facilitating data sharing among government entities. It supports the growth of the digital economy, enhances the efficiency and reliability of digital services, and contributes to more informed decision-making.

Meanwhile, the Estishraf platform utilizes advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence technologies to support decision-making and anticipate future challenges. The platform provides indicators, analytical insights, and predictive models that help government entities improve preparedness and enhance planning and policymaking.

SDAIA is scheduled to receive the award during the official ceremony on June 25 as part of the United Nations Public Service Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia.
