RIYADH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s solidarity with Qatar and offered its sincere condolences following an internal explosion at a gas facility in the Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Saudi Arabia affirmed its full support for Qatar and commended the efforts of the competent authorities in responding to the incident.

The Kingdom extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased. It wished a speedy recovery for those who sustained injuries, and hoped for the safe return of the missing to their loved ones.

The Kingdom also prayed to God Almighty to protect the State of Qatar and its people from all harm and adversity.

At least 13 people have been killed and 66 injured after an explosion at Qatar’s largest gas facility. The city’s main liquified natural gas (LNG) processing site suffered a “technical accident” in Ras Laffan industrial zone on Sunday night, the interior ministry said, with the city’s skyline turning orange because of the explosion.
