JEDDAH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has warned of heavy rain and flash floods hitting several regions of Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The rainy weather condition will be experienced in the southern and western parts of the Riyadh region, as well as in the eastern parts of the Makkah, Asir, and Al-Baha regions.

The NCM stated that the rainy weather condition will be featured by heavy rainfall that may lead to flash floods in valleys and ravines, accompanied by hail and strong surface winds that may reach high speeds, reducing horizontal visibility in some areas.

Hussein Al-Qahtani, spokesperson of NCM, stressed that the expected weather conditions necessitate taking precautions, especially in areas prone to flash floods. He underlined the need to follow the continuous weather updates issued by the center.

Al-Qahtani urged the public to adhere to the instructions and guidelines issued by the competent authorities, and to keep away from valleys and flood passages.
