TEHRAN — One person was killed after Iran’s Bushehr nuclear plant was struck on Saturday amid the ongoing US-Israeli war, according to the semi-official Fars News Agency.

The victim was identified as a member of the plant’s security personnel, the report said, adding that one of the facility’s auxiliary buildings was damaged by the blast and shrapnel.

Preliminary assessments indicated that the plant’s main sections were not affected and that operations continue as normal.

The incident marks the fourth time the facility has come under attack since the start of the war on Feb. 28.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said no increase in radiation levels had been recorded following the strike.

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi expressed deep concern over the incident, stressing that nuclear power plant sites and surrounding areas must not be targeted, noting that auxiliary buildings may contain critical safety equipment.
