RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has achieved its 2030 target early in terms of prevention and public health, with health departments across the regions reaching 92 percent readiness to address health risks. This was revealed in the 2025 annual report of the Health Sector Transformation Program.

The report revealed significant achievements reflecting the growing impact of the health transformation journey in the Kingdom since the launch of Saudi Vision 2030. It emphasized the continued progress towards building a more integrated and efficient healthcare system that prioritizes human health.

The report also indicated that the average life expectancy in the Kingdom has risen to 79.7 years, approaching the Vision’s target of 80 years. This directly reflects the improvement in public health indicators and the integration of national efforts in prevention, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing healthcare services.

The coverage of primary healthcare services reached 97.5 percent of population centers across the Kingdom, including remote areas, enhancing access to healthcare for all members of society. Regarding digital transformation in healthcare, the health sector continued to solidify its position as a leading example of this transformation. The number of beneficiaries of the Sehhaty application exceeded 31 million, while the services of the Seha Virtual Hospital expanded to reach more than 365,000 beneficiaries through a network of 241 healthcare facilities connected to the system, contributing to the delivery of specialized services across the Kingdom.

The report also highlighted investment in national healthcare capabilities, with the number of healthcare professionals in the Kingdom exceeding 803,000, in addition to the graduation of more than 35,000 physicians from Saudi Board programs.

This supports the quality of healthcare services and enhances the sector’s readiness to meet future needs. Furthermore, integrated efforts among government agencies have contributed to reducing traffic fatalities by approximately 60 percent since the launch of the Vision and enhancing the speed of emergency response to preserve lives and reduce human losses and injuries affecting the health of individuals in the Kingdom.
