RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan received on Sunday a phone call from European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas.

During the call, they reviewed cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the EU and discussed regional and international developments of mutual interest. They also addressed the terrorist Houthi militia’s attack on King Khalid International Airport.

Kallas affirmed the EU’s condemnation of the attack, stressing that indiscriminate attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure cannot be justified. She expressed EU’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia, offered condolences to the families of those killed, and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

Kallas also stressed the need for efforts to address regional escalation and the importance of strengthening cooperation on maritime defense to ensure the security and safety of the region’s waterways.
